MAPSearch® Database Description

Oil, gas and electric power maps, databases and GIS products for energy research.

Geographic area of coverage: United States, Canada, and offshore Gulf of Mexico

PIPELINES AND FACILITIES DATABASE

Pipeline data: diameter, owner/operator, commodity, line type, direction of flow, facility/pipeline interconnections, and idle/spare pipelines formerly utilized for transporting the product of interest.

Crude Oil

Pipeline Systems: Transmission and gathering systems.

Facilities: Refinery operations, import/export terminals, and truck unloading facilities.

LPG/NGL

Pipeline Systems: Ethane and propane plus mix streams, ethane, propane, ethane/propane mix, iso-butane, normal butane, field grade butane, natural gasoline and propane/propylene mix.

Facilities: Gas processing plants (those with specification production are denoted), fractionators, refineries with LPG production, underground storage facilities, terminals, docks and petrochemical plants using LPG feedstock.

Natural Gas

Pipeline Systems: Transmission, gathering and distribution systems.

Facilities: Gas processing plants, storage facilities, LNG terminals and major industrial end-users.

Petrochemicals

Pipeline Systems: Ethylene, all grades propylene, butadiene, crude butadiene and butylene.

Facilities: Producers and consumers of these olefins, terminals, import/export facilities and underground storage.

Refined Products

Pipeline Systems: All grades gasoline, fuel oils, naphtha, jet fuels and other conventional and specialty refined products.

Facilities: Refinery operations, import/export facilities, pipeline terminals and associated connected receiving facilities.

Miscellaneous

Pipeline Systems: Specialty gases, such as hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen; and other products transported by pipeline, such as anhydrous ammonia.

Facilities: Those related to these commodities.

OFFSHORE GULF OF MEXICO DATABASE

DESCRIPTION: The MAPSearch pipeline and facility database includes the offshore Gulf of Mexico. Information includes all mapping data provided by the Minerals Management Service (MMS). This includes lease grids, districts, areas, fairways, platforms, and pipeline logistical data, such as pipeline interconnects. All platform data is provided with linking MMS IDs. The MMS data has been edge-matched to the appropriate onshore data.

Rural Electric Areas: over 900 REA territories, including number of Consumers, REA Name, Address

Investor Owned Utilities: over 100 IOUs with greater than 10,000 customers, includes Name, number of Customers, Headquarters location

Municipalities: over 1900 municipalities, includes Name, Company address, Phone number, FAX number, MWH delivered, MWH sales, number of Customers

NERC Regions: Region name, Industry abbreviation, Physical address, Phone number, includes sub-regions listing name and Industry abbreviation

Power plants & Hydros: over 3200 power plants and dams; Plant information includes Plant name, Physical address, Installed capacity, Year installed, number of plants, Fuel Type, Primary mover, Owner/Operator Company Name, Spatial accuracy metacode; Dam information includes Dam name, Reservoir name, Ownership, Size code, Max capacity, Normal capacity, Surface capacity, HUC, River name, plus much more

Transmission Lines: 190,000 miles of lines 230 kV and greater in US and Canada plus more than 72,000 miles of distribution lines; includes Voltage, Type, Status, Owner/Operator (where available), Spatial accuracy metacode

Substations: nearly 7300 substations, includes Substation name, State, AC or DC, Status, Owner/Operator name, Spatial accuracy metacode
